Contest

The contest is  ENTIRELY online. The event will consist of 2 online rounds , spanning the following disciplines:

• CHEMICAL AND MATERIAL SCIENCES

• COMPUTER SCIENCES

• ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES

• MECHANICAL AND PRODUCTION SCIENCES

Both Online Rounds 1 and 2 will consist of Multiple Choice Questions ( MCQ ) type. There will be one correct answer per question.

Online Round 1 is open to all those who have registered. It will be an elimination round. All those above a certain mean cutoff will advance to Online Round 2

Online Round 2 is open to only those who have qualified in Online Round 1. The best brains will compete for the top spot and some extra cash in their pockets!

Schedule of the Event

The event will be ENTIRELY online 

• Registrations start on February 14 ,2008 12:00 AM IST and end on February 27,2008 ,10:00 PM IST
• Online Round 1 for all disciplines will start on February 25, 2008 , 2:00 PM IST and end on February 27,2008 , 10:00 PM IST
• Online Round 2 for all disciplines will start on February 28, 2008 , 4:00 PM IST and end on March 1, 2008 , 10:00 PM IST

Scoring

Scoring for each question will be +3 for a right answer and -1 for a wrong answer . In case you choose NOT to answer a question, you will not be scored for that question.

Online Round 1 : All those above a certain mean cut off will carry over their score to Online Round 2

Online Round 2 : The highest cumulative scores at the end of Online Round 2 ( score in Online Round 1 + Online Round 2) will be eligible for the cash awards.

Rules and Regulations

• It will be each man for himself ( one per team)

• One person can compete in any number of disciplines

• All participants for Online Round 1 can compete once per discipline over the course of the two days for which Online Round 1 will be open

• The mean cut – off for Online Round 1 will be different for each discipline and will be decided by the event manager.

• All those who advance to Online Round 2 will be able to participate once per discipline over the course of the one day for which Online Round 2 will be open.

• Decision of the Event manager shall be final.
