Ladies, gentlemen, and students...welcome to Arthashastra '08, designed to awaken the dormant manager in you. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. So said a great manager, and Arthashastra is about taking it tough, and having it hot. Mind you, we are not asking you to plough through any erudite tomes, nor are we asking you to come prepared with hacksaws and blades and mindless robots. All that is required of you is your mind, as it is. All that is required is a bit of practical knowledge of how life goes on.

Rules and Regulations

• Arthashastra consists of two parts, the preliminary round, and the final rounds.
• The preliminary round will be conducted online, and on the basis of the results, 12 participants will be shortlisted for the finals. This round will be held a month before the start of Pragyan '08.
• The final is a multi-tiered series of events, all of which are eliminative in nature. Four such events will be held, the structure of which will be as follows:
  • The 12 participants will be randomly divided into two groups of 6 each, and these teams will be pitted against each other in the first round.
  • The round will consist of a task to be accomplished. The task will be competitive in nature. At the accomplishment of the task, the losing team will be asked to vote out two of it's members, who they feel have been its weakest link.
  • These two members will have no further part to play in the event. The winning team, on the other hand, will be asked to vote out one of its members, who will then join the losing side of the day. Hence, at the end of the first task, we will have 5 members in each team left.
  • These two teams will then play the next round, and the same procedure will be followed at the end of this task, and so on, until at the end of 3 such rounds, we are left with 3 members in each team.
• At this stage, a final task will be set, on the completion of which, the members of the winning team will be declared as the victors of Arthashastra '08.
