A short and precise abstract will receive better attention than a long, convoluted one. The abstract should have the following parts:

  • Background: What are the uses and applications of your model? What other instruments or systems are used for similar applications?
  • Design Outline: - Design equations, diagrams, experiment design, algorithms etc. Your own ideas should be emphasized.
  • Innovative component in the design: - Mention what is your own contribution to the model design and how is it better than commonly used methods.
  • Test results: - Is your model complete? If yes, then how was it tested? Summarize your results.
  • Instruments or Other special requirements for display of model e.g. Oscilloscope, Regulated Power Supply etc.

Round II - Exhibition session

The selected entries will be provided stalls and supporting infrastructure in a special Avishkar exhibition during Pragyan '08 to display their working models/projects. The evaluation will be based on the marks awarded by the Judges, the response of the visitors to the stalls and also performance of the team in the brain storming session. In the brain storming session, each team in the exhibition round will be asked to evaluate some allotted models/projects as per the given format. This will help bring out new ideas from participants for improvement models, and will also test the capacity of the team to analyze. The feedback for each model will be provided to their respective teams.

Eligibility

Any student pursuing a degree or diploma in a technical field from a recognized institution and with a valid identity proof can participate.

Any non-software and non-theoretical working model/project from any branch of engineering is eligible for Avishkar.
