The Hospitality Team of Pragyan’08 promises to make your trip to NIT (erstwhile known as REC,i.e,Regional Engineering College), Trichy campus one of the most memorable moments of your life. Just drop in NITT and the Hospitality Team will be at your assistance throughout the festival. Before you enter into our world, please do read this page carefully and register.

How to reach NIT T

 

NITT is in Tiruchirapalli (also know as Trichy or Tiruchy). It is located about 22 km from Tiruchurapalli Jn / Central bus stand on the Trichy-Thanjavur Highway. The simplest and most economical way to reach NITT is by bus. Any city bus at the Tiruchirapalli Jn will take you to the central bus stand. Board Thanjavur bound mofussil or route bus. The journey time from Trichy will be around 45 minutes.


Trichy is connected by road to Chennai (320 km), Madurai (142 km) and to all major towns in South India by regular bus services. Tiruchirapalli is an important junction on the Southern Railway. It connects Madras, Thanjavur, Madurai, Tuticorin, Tirupati, Rameswaram, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Cochin and Mangalore. It has an international airport, and is connected with Bangalore, Chennai (Madras), Singapore, Colombo, Kuwait, Sharjah, Calicut. Indian Airlines connects Trichy with Chennai, Sharjah, Calicut, Kuwait and Colombo. Srilankan airways connects Tiruchirapalli with Colombo.

The college is still commonly known as REC amongst the locales.

 

General Instructions:

  • Participants only from outside Trichy/Tanjore are eligible for registration.
  • Services of the Hospi will be provided only for those who register online.
  • Services will be offered from 28th February, 6:00pm to 3rd March, 06:00pm.
  • Accommodation will be provided on a sharing basis. Any request for individual rooms will not be entertained.
  • Services will be offered on “First Register First Serve” basis.
  • Participants are requested to take care of their belongings during their stay at NITT. Neither the Pragyan’08 team nor the institute will take responsibility for any loss.
  • The Hospi registration is separate from the registration for events.
  • Participants (those who are short listed for events) will be given preference over Visitors.

 

Charges: 

Registration fee Rs. 300/-
Caution Deposit (refundable) Rs. 200/-
Total Rs. 500/-

This amount of Rs.500/- (per head) by cash has to be paid at the Hospitality Desk to avail the services offered by Pragyan.

 

Registration Procedure:

  • Fill up the online registration form, after carefully reading the instructions, providing genuine details.
  • After you finish the registration online, an acknowledgment mail will be sent to your mail id from the Hospi. This mail confirms your accommodation in NITT during Pragyan'08. You are requested to check also the bulk/spam folders of your mail account.
  • Once you get the confirmation mail from Hospi, you have to confirm your arrival date to hospi@pragyan.org with subject [confirmation] on or before 27th February, 2008.

Register at the Hospi desk, in person, after you arrive at NITT.

 

Services:

By registering at Hospi, you can avail the following benefits:

  • A participation certificate* will be provided to all participants who register at the hospitality desk
  • Accommodation1 for four full days.
  • Transportation2 from Bus Terminals and Railway Station to NITT at selected timings during morning and evening.
  • One way traveling reimbursement3, taking into consideration the shortest route to Trichy, to all the top three of the events.
  • Pragyan memorabilia.

 

 * Subject to jurisdiction of Pragyan committee.

*1 Accommodation can be extended, under unavoidable situations till 3rd March 2008 till12:00 noon. Food and transportation will not be provided in such cases.

*2 Subject to availability of vehicles. The number of persons requiring transportation should exceed a minimum of 6.

*3 Original tickets should be submitted. Reimbursement is applicable

  • Only for travel within the border of India.
  • Only for a second class sleeper or equivalent and Govt operated state express buses.
  • Air tickets are not reimbursable but any one of the above mentioned equivalents will be given.

 

Checklist:

It is mandatory to bring the following

  • Proof of your Identity, preferably Institute Id card or equivalent with photograph
  • Two recent passport size color photographs

 

In case of any discrepancy or conflict, the Pragyan Organizing Committee's Decision will be FINAL.
