Introduction

13th February | 14:00-17:00 Hrs | CLC Building

"The only thing that is permanent in life is change.”

Welcome to Transforma - ”The Ultimate Metamorphosis” where we dare you to change! Work those grey cells back to life as you try to transform one thing into another. Maybe an aircooler into a washing machine? Or a car into a robot (or maybe not!)? Anyways, get your brains up and running as you try and bring about the ultimate transformation.

Problem Abstract :

Michael Scofield is an engineering student. His area of interest is reverse engineering. His experimentation lab is a ware house away from the city. His ware house consists of electrical appliances, mechanical devices, electronics, vehicles etc (see tabular column), and all kinds of tools. He loves to dismantle a machine, study its components and regroup them back. So one day he dismantled a model-A. After scrutinizing it he started regrouping. Suddenly a thought crept into his mind, "Why not regroup to something new? Something different?" That’s it. He started thinking what he can construct newly using the same parts. He worked out the design on paper. He felt shortage of some components. So he involved components of other machines, vehicles etc., to fill those blanks. But to keep this challenging he restricted himself to use not more than 4 such components. At last he finished the sketch of his new model-B. Overwhelmed with the achievement, he started building the model-B. He deformed/omitted the components of model-A, as per the requirement. Thus he transformed model-A into a brand new model-B which do revolutionized the world around.

Problem Statement :

Considering you were Michael Scofield, start transforming any machine present in ware-house (say model-A) to transform it to some model-B.

Prelims :

Upload a write up  (ppt / doc) on how the transformation of the model will be carried out. Deadline for uploading your abstracts is 31st January.

Write up should include:

  • Description of initial model-A.
  • How model-A is transformed to model-B.
  • Description of the added parts, if any.

Font size to be used in the abstract- 11.

The abstract should not exceed 4 A4 pages.

Finals :

Shortlisted teams must build the model-B as mentioned in their abstract. Model-B has to be submited on the day of event.
