From nano science to structural dynamics, simulation forms the foundation stone for the edifice of research and innovation. Think twice before you make your choice is no more the industrial mantra. Every spark of thought can trigger the research engines, with the tool of simulation. Sim’Antics, a purely simulation based contest has been introduced in Pragyan ’09 to kindle interest in simulation among students. The contest will only be based on electrical, electronics and control system concepts.

Prelims:

• There will be an online elimination round. Register now!
• Online prelims will be held from 29-31 January
• The prelims will consist of subjective questions with a time limit of 1 hour with the following sections:
  • Circuits & Devices
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Control Systems
  • MATLAB

Finals:

• Around 16 to 20 teams will be shortlisted for this round.
• Participants will be provided with a system installed with MATLAB7.
• 8 to 10 small problems will be given which is to be simulated in a span of 3 hours.

Rules:

1. Each team should have two members.
2. The students can belong to any discipline. However the contest will be based only on electrical, electronics and control system concepts.
3. To ensure uniformity, the contest will be based on the platform of Simulink-Matlab only.

Judgement Guidelines:

1. Each question shall have a fixed mark distribution.
2. Optimal techniques will fetch bonus points.
3. The decision of the Sim’Antics team will be final and binding.
