As with most machines, there is a continual need to keep the system well-oiled and more importantly, stay relevant.
Crossfire, USP of Pragyan’09 hopes to do just that. Crossfire is an interactive panel discussion on “India as a global knowledge economy Leader”. Crossfire would serve as a platform for the academia, industry, media and government to introspect, discuss and seek future action plans to rejuvenate the knowledge economy in the country that includes higher education system along with other relevant issues that would catapult India into a global knowledge economy in the future.
Knowledge is the key to a better tomorrow. India stands on the threshold of superpower-dom, but there is no denying there is a steep, rocky climb ahead. The path has many bumps, and it will take insightful, measured, and informed strides to side-step these pitfalls. This is exactly what our discussion aims to address. It is important to see how we can establish strong relationships between knowledge pools and the needs of the postindustrial society, focusing on the increased importance of knowledge generation and organization for the economic and social well-being of the society.
In order to stay pertinent, there arises a great need for experience and insight, people who have practical wisdom in this field. We hope to draw a variety of panelists from the government, media, industry and academia, each with their own unique inputs, to give a thorough overview of the present system and suggest plausible reforms.
Some of the key issues expected to be discussed during Crossfire are:
- Current status of higher education in India.
- Increased importance of knowledge generation and organization for the economic and social well-being of the society.
- Privatization and issue of Deemed status to educational institutes.
- Industry-academia interactions and relevance of finishing schools etc.
Note: To attend Crossfire, there will be a shortlisting where you are required to share your views and opinions on a topic. Access the shortlisting page over here.
