Pragyan presents Manthan, the industrial problem solving competition. Manthan is an event about applying your engineering skills to solve a problem related to industry. The event will test your approach to solve any problem and will check your basic concepts in performing any task.
The event will challenge the participants' thought process and test their ability to tackle practical problems including assembling, reverse engineering etc.
Tailor mode for the technologically inclined, manthan promises to stretch participants' general aptitude to the limits, and beyond.

Participants can also register for this event on-the-spot if they choose to do so, but it would be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The event will be held in two stages:
Round One: Written test comprising of general aptitude and basic engineering problems.
Round Two: Various problem statements which will judge the technical knowledge and practical approach like assembling, reverse engineering etc.
- A team must comprise of 3 members, preferably from different disciplines.
- Same team members should be retained for both prelims and main event.
- No change in team will be entertained.
- Participants should not use calculators, mobiles or any electronic equipment for aid during the prelims.
- Participants should reach the spot on time, late comers will not be allowed.
- Participants will be allowed to use only those materials which the organizers provide for the second round and no other material will be allowed.
- On spot registrations will be on first come first serve basis.
- The decision of the organizers will be final and binding.
- How many members per team?
3 members per team, preferably of different disciplines.
- How many stages will the event will have?
2 stages - Prelims will be a written round and will be eliminative. Those who qualify in this written exam will move to next stage which will have events relating to assembling, building etc.
- Do we have to continue with the same team in both stages?
Yes, it’s compulsory to have same team members in both stages.
- Will the registrations be on spot also?
Yes but it will be on first come first serve so its better to register online.
- What could be a possible sample problem statement?
Say, to make an hour glass with given materials without using a watch which will measure a specified time.
