Cash prizes worth 10000 INR to be won!
Witness a quintet of challenges like never before!
Pentagra presents a platform for creative techies of circuit and mechanical streams to showcase their 'know-hows'. Effectuated by the fusion of momenta and electricity, the event tests your intellect in electromechanics by means of an assortment of five rounds at different levels.
Registrations are now open. Click here to register.
Online registrations close on February 24, 2010.
For any queries or issues regarding registration, contact the event managers or send an e-mail to:

-
Round 1: 'Funda'-mentals - Written objective round of around 30 questions. One-third negative marking for wrong answers, so be Chary!! The top 10 scorers slide to the next round.
-
Round 2: Tech-Court - Dumb Charades and Visual Round.
-
Round 3: Demystify - Debugging and finding missing components in electronic and mechanical systems. Based on the cumulative scores of previous rounds, five teams would be selected for Round 4.
-
Round 4: Black Box - Identifying nature of hidden circuits/systems.
-
Round 5: Fact-o-Real - Designing a system for the given problem statement. Simple yet dynamic systems form the heartbeat of every little gadget out there.
Judging criteria: Efficiency, Simplicity, Practical Feasibility, Cost Effectiveness.
- Teams of not more than 3 members.
- Prior registration is required for participating in the event.
- The decision of the judges will be final.
- Its advisable for teams to consist of participants from different disciplines.
- Who is eligible to participate in Pentagra?
- How many members per team?
- Can a team consist of participants from different colleges?
- Are there any preliminary rounds for the event?
- Is any prior knowledge required to participate?
- Any material that needs to be brought along with the participants?
- Will the registrations be on spot also?
- Will I get a participation certificate for Round 1?
- What could be a possible sample problem statement for Round 5?
Those who have a fascination for electronics and mechanics can take part.
A maximum of three members can form a team. Two is deficient, three is not a crowd and four is not allowed!
Yes.
No. Teams which have registered online automatically get a chance to participate in Round 1 of Pentagra.
A basic knowledge of electronics and mechanics is expected. All the rounds test the application-based knowledge of electromechanics.
No. Just come with your intellect.
Yes. But there will be only limited on-spot registrations. So online registration is preferred.
No. The ten teams which get selected for Round 2 will get participation certificates.
A very simple example could be to design an electromechanical model to sense heat in an iron box and control current flow (instead of totally cutting the supply off, as in automatic iron boxes). The model should satisfy all the judging criteria.
