Prelims
Phase I online prelims are now over.
Phase II online prelims are now over. Keep looking at this page for the shortlist.
The first round is online in which teams will be judged on their basic knowledge of electronics, ability to analyse new circuits and aptitude.
Prelims
There will be two phases of online prelims. Prior registration is required to answer the online prelims.
Those who have attended Prelims Phase 1 and have not been shortlisted, may attend Prelims Phase 2.
Instructions:
- The online prelims will be for duration of one hour. The participants can participate any time during the prelims timing. However they will have to take the quiz in a single sitting of one hour.
- You must be registered to the event to take the test.
- The test duration is for 1 hour.
- It consists of 50 objective questions. Each question has only one correct answer.
- You can take the test for any 1 hour in between 1600 Hrs on 30th January 2010 to 2359 Hrs, 31st January 2010 or 0000 Hrs on 10th February 2010 to 2359 Hrs, 11th February 2010.
- You will be rewarded +3 marks for every correct answer and -1 for a wrong one.
- Once you have attempted a question you can change the choice. However you cannot leave it unanswered.
- DO NOT REFRESH the page anytime during the test. This will lead to deletion of the choices you have entered.
- DO NOT PRESS any button on the browser as well.
- Once you have submitted your test, you will not be allowed to take it again.
- Time taken to take the test will not be taken as a criteria while preparing the short list of teams.
- Decisions taken by the event managers will be final and binding.
Teams short-listed will then have an on-campus second round. Given a list of components (i.e Integrated Circuits, resistors, capacitors, switches etc.), the teams will be expected to come up with a theoretical circuit implementation of a problem within a specific time duration. Factors on which candidates will be shortlisted for final round are:
- No component should be used from outside the list provided.
- Compatibility of implementing the circuit practically.
- Robustness, efficiency of circuit will be considered in case of a tie.
The final round will be held in an electronics lab on campus. The teams will be provided with all the components mentioned in the list. Factors on which teams will be judged are:
- Working of the circuit.
- The proximity of the practical implementation to that of the theoretical design.
- Time, efficiency.
Note: Time and efficiency are important parameters in the final practical implementation but not in the online prelims.
- A team cannot consist of more than 3 members.
- Prior registration is required for participating in the event and access the online prelims.
- The decision of the judges will be final.
