From nano science to structural dynamics, simulation forms the foundation stone for the edifice of research and innovation. "Think twice before you make your choice" is no more the industrial mantra. Every spark of thought can trigger the research engines, with the tool of simulation. SimAntics, a purely simulation based contest will be held in Pragyan ’10 to kindle interest in simulation among students. The contest will only be based on electrical, electronics and control system concepts.

This event also has on-the spot registrations. Online registration is just to get an idea of the number of participants.
Prelims:
- Prelims will be conducted on the spot.
- Prior registration is required for participation.
- The prelims will consist of objective and subjective questions with a time limit of 1.5 hours with the following sections:
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Control Systems
- MATLAB
Finals:
- Around 8 teams will be shortlisted for this round.
- Participants will be provided with a system installed with MATLAB7.
- The round will consist of both MATLAB Simulation and Coding questions.
- 8 to 10 problems would be given which have to be solved in a span of 3 hours.
- All finalists will be awarded participation certificates.*
* The top 3 winners will be awarded merit certificates.
Rules:
- Each team should have two members.
- The students can belong to any discipline. However the contest will be based only on electrical, electronics and control system concepts.
- To ensure uniformity, the contest will be based on the platform of Simulink-Matlab only.
Judgement Guidelines:
- Each question shall have a fixed mark distribution.
- Optimal techniques will fetch bonus points.
- The decision of the SimAntics team will be final and binding.
