Online Prelims will be held from 0000 hrs on Tuesday, 23 February 2010, til 2359 hrs on Tuesday, 23 February 2010. The prelims can be accessed here.

Das Kapital is an online market simulation game, first of its kind to be held in an UG institute. You can have a team of maximum three people. There will be a preliminary round followed by a final during Pragyan. A team will have to manage a fictional steel industry. They’ll be provided with a plant to start with and a capital which they’ve to invest in different departments to grow their company. The objective is to maximize company value and market share. Eight teams will compete against each other in a virtual financial market at a time. Number of teams reaching the final round will be eight. The preliminary rounds format will be based on the number of registrations.

• You will be provided with a computer system to play the game in the finals.
• Organizers’ decision is final.
• Team members cannot be changed under any circumstance after the prelims.

• What are we expected to bring to the venue?

  You’re advised to get a pen/pencil, couple of sheets of paper for your rough work and a calculator for calculations.

• Do we need to have any knowledge of economics for this event?

  A basic idea of the working of market should be helpful.
