Get ready to battle in 64 squares of awesomeness.

TIME: 10AM to 5PM

VENUE: CEESAT

There are a total of four events:-

Standard Chess:

Rules are the same as international standards. The goal of the game is to checkmate the opposing king. Results include draw or win.

Anti-Chess:

The objective of each player is to lose all of his pieces or to be stalemated.

The rules are the same as those for standard chess, except for the following special ones:

● Capturing is compulsory.

● When more than one capture is available, the player may choose which piece to

capture.

● The king has no royal power and as a consequence, it may be captured as any other piece. There is no check or checkmate. There is no castling as well.

● In addition to its normal promotion options, a pawn may be promoted to a king. Stalemate is a win for the stalemated player.

Alternating Chess:

The rules are the same as international standards. The only extra rule included is, for every 5

moves the board will be interchanged i.e., the participants need to play the opposite colour

pieces for the next 5 moves and so on. The goal of the game is to checkmate the opposing king.

Results include draw or a win. Do not underestimate your opponent, since you might just end up

playing against yourself.

Atomic Chess:

Standard rules of chess apply here as well. However, all captures result in an explosion. The captured piece, capturing piece and all other pieces nearby(adjacent squares) will be removed except for the pawns. The main aim of the game is to nuke or checkmate your opposing king. The game ends in draw when none of the players could possibly nuke or checkmate their opponent.

F.A.Q:-

1) What should I do if I can’t understand the diagrams/rules?

A. It is just a normal chess game with the same rules for movement of your pieces/armies. However, for the hexagonal board, there is another direction in which the pieces can move. Two simple rules have been added which are easy to understand from observation.

2) Is it going to be tournament match style or exhibition match style?

A. It is more of an exhibition for the first two days rather than a tournament. You could play

against your friends or random strangers.

3) What do I need in order to play?

A. You will need to have a Pragyan ID.

4)Any other queries?

A.Refer contact numbers below.

5) Judging Criteria:

A. At the end of the stipulated time, the participant who is leading will be declared as the winner.

The event manager’s decision will be the final.
