TERMINAL TRAGEDY

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

This is an ethical hacking contest that tests your ability to crack and hack the servers, your competence to encode and break the system. Your objective is to discover as many keys as you can, that are embedded safely in abstract locations, hidden from the reaches of the amateur.

FORMAT:

• The duration of the event is 2 days(12PM ,31^st October - 12PM, 2^st November 2017).
• A set of challenges will be provided that are downloadable by the participant.
• The objective is to find a key (or the solution) by exploiting a vulnerability in the challenge using cryptography, hacking, etc.
• The participants will be ranked based upon the number of challenges solved and the time taken to solve them.
• The key could be a random text like “flag{congr4tz_y0u_found_1t}” or in a specific format provided during the event.

RULES

• Asking queries about the questions on public forums is strictly prohibited.
• In case of doubts, the event manager may be contacted directly.
• Posting the solutions or source code on any forum is not allowed, violation of this rule may lead to disqualification.
• The decision/judgement of the organisers is final.

1. What are the prerequisites to participate?
A stable active internet connection is required, with a computer that can run Linux/Windows apps.
2. Can I participate without any prior knowledge?
Yes, you can. The competition is a perfect platform to spark your interest in ethical hacking.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

• The final ranking will be based on the number of challenges solved, the difficulty of each challenge solved, and the time taken to solve each individual challenge.
• The scores, and difficulty level for each challenge are predetermined.
• The top three positions in the standing will be announced as the winners.
• Event manager’s decision is final.
