IoT is the next Big thing in today's world which can be used to extend Internet into our day to day life and create a physically networked world in which all electronic devices are connected via a wireless network to form a globally intelligent infrastructure.

In this challenge, participants use IoT to solve a day to day problem.

Prizes worth INR 35,000

Preliminary Round : Teams need to submit their abstract by 22.01.2015. Abstract must give a detailed explanation of their idea and how they propose to go about their idea step by step with a block diagram. Also analyse the feasibility of your proposed idea in day to day life and why it is better than the existing solutions.

20 teams will be shortlisted based on the abstracts submitted. They will receive Texas Instruments CC3200 Module to work on. The given components must be compulsorily used for the project. Any other component required by you can be purchased by you and used for the final implementation.

Selected teams should update their progress :

First update must be done on or before 10/02/2015. The submission should be of a full circuit diagram of their project with very specific component details.

Second update must be done on or before 20/02/2015

(The rate of progress and the consistency of work will also be considered while judging)

Final Round :

Teams should produce a working prototype of their proposed idea and will be judged based on that. This will happen during Pragyan at NIT Trichy.

1. Students from any college or university can participate in this competition.

2. There should be a minimum of 2 and a maximum of four members per team.

3. Your team must register for the event at Pragyan 15 Website.

4. Only the selected 20 teams will get the participation certificate.

5. The project has to be done with the components provided by Texas Instruments.

The Judging Panel will make their selection based on the content of the Entries and using the following criteria:

  • Perceived market opportunity.

  • Originality and creativity, including perceived differentiation from competition.

  • Technical maturity and viability of proposed approach.

  • Proposers’ expertise and ability to feasibly create a successful outcome.

  • Judges decision is final and cannot be altered.

He works with CeNSE’s Industry Affiliate Program Team - interaction with industries and the CeNSE Newsletter quarterly issue. Also, he does technical briefing with system engineering facility experts at CeNSE on IoT, Role of nanotechnology, Wireless & Embedded Technologies. He holds master degree in mobile & pervasive computing and his future research interests in MEMS/Nanotechnology based sensors, communication and processing unit for IoT. He was previously employed as Researcher – M2M & Wireless at Tonse Telecom, Bangalore featuring Indian M2M market research report.

He has given a talk on Impact of nanotechnology in IoT at Erocks'14 recently.

The areas in which IoT can be applied are innumerable.

1. Health care

5.Automation (in any field)

6.Energy management

7.Industrial Applications

Participants can choose one of the topics mentioned above, analyze the day to day problems in that area and come up with a solution for the same.
